RIHANNA PERFORMS 'DIAMONDS' /ACCEPTS AMA ICON AWARD

"I can't believe at just 25 years old I'm holding an Icon award!"

With seven album in just seven years, 12 #1 singles, 50 million albums sold and 180 singles sold worldwide, its fair to say Rihanna's impact on Pop music is immeasurable. From music, to fashion to film, she's covered it. A testament to her hard work and her drive to be the best only she can be, we've watched the singer evolved in front our very own eyes, pushing the boundaries and dominating many a territories once held by some of her contemporaries.

Watch the Icon deliver her hit 'Diamonds' backed by a 50-member orchestra...

Bill Maher introduced Rihanna first, calling her “the voice of our generation,” which is a huge compliment. He then showed a great tribute video which shows a look back at Rihanna’s career, from Pon de Replay to Stay, and all the success in between.

A job well done!

Her mother Monica Braithwaite presented the award to her daughter and shared how proud she is of the Icon. Rihanna in return thanked her mother for the support from the beginning. There was also a toua message from Roc Nation's boss Jay Z to Rihanna whom he discovered 7 years ago. Its just the beginning for this Caribbean woman and a pivotal moment for the Caribbean.
