MILEY CYRUS RISE, LORDE SUBSIDES

After ruling the chart for nine weeks in tandem, Lorde's reign atop the Billboard Hot 100 has come to an end. Indeed, in a unexpected twist on the ever changing chart, the 17 year-old has seen her hit 'Royals' toppled by none other than- Miley Cyrus.

Miley Cyrus' unexpected return to top comes as a parody video to Cyrus' hit 'Wrecking Ball' helped to push the single in sales. Many were hoping that Eminem and Rihanna's single 'Monster' would've scared away Lorde from the top spot, but much to the dismay it was Cyrus. However, with the accompanying video to arrive in the coming weeks, 'Monster' should take the cake.

For Pop titans Katy Perry and Lady Gaga, their respective singles 'Roar' and 'Applause' has suffered consistent decline with both singles bowing out of the top 5 and top 10 positions, holding court at #9 and #14 on the chart.
